How can my student fundraise without me, a parent or guardian, giving them money?
Lemonade stands, selling their unused toys, picking up pinecones, and walking the dog are all great ideas! Encourage them to be creative and take pride in raising money for their school.
Can I donate by cash or check?
Yes! We accept cash or checks. Please bring your donation to our donation table outside of school on Thursdays starting on 4/25 from 2:45-3:15pm. Or email us at [email protected] to make other arrangements. We will also be accepting all methods of payment at the Jefferson Jog event on May 16th.
What are we fundraising for?
This annual fundraiser, planned by the PTG, makes up the majority of our annual budget. The money raised during this event directly benefits students by paying for expenses such as: field trips; events throughout the year (like the Glow Dance, Trunk of Treat, the STEM Expo and the Variety Show); adding new playground equipment, picnic tables and buddy benches; snow removal on the blacktop, and much more!
What happens during the Jefferson Jog?
This super fun event takes place at 10am at the track on Hart Field on 5/16. Each grade has a starting spot and over the course of 1.5(ish) hours, the students run or walk as many laps as they can or want to! There will be live music, water stations, lots of parent volunteers and more.
Are we counting laps this year?
All donations this year are just flat donations, not based on laps. However, students will receive a wrist band to keep track of their laps for fun. We will recognize the top 3 runners from each grade that ran the most laps and will recognize all students for participating.
Will there be a Jefferson Jog t-shirt this year?
Yep! The morning of the event, each student will receive a shirt to wear, free of charge. Thank you to Spokane Floor and Home for sponsoring ALL of our student t-shirts again this year.
How will lunch work that day?
We will have an all school picnic at the track right after the Jog around 11:30!
We would like to invite you to join your Jefferson Joggers for lunch on Thursday, May 16th after the Jefferson Jog. You are welcome to bring your own lunch, but we are also glad to have you join us for a special picnic lunch served by the Jefferson lunch room.
We will be having turkey and cheese sandwiches, a Jello parfait, chips, watermelon and an ice cream treat. Adult lunches are $4, and an additional $1 for milk. Child lunches (for younger siblings) are $3.05, and they include milk.
All Jefferson students eat for free. If you're ordering lunch, we request pre-payment in the form of cash (exact change required) or check dropped off at the Jefferson office by Monday, May 13th. Please make sure any cash is clearly labeled in an envelope.
Please click on the link below if you want to order a picnic lunch from the school for this day. It is important to note that we will account for Jefferson students eating lunch here at school, so this form is ONLY for people that do not attend Jefferson.
Absolutely! We encourage any parents who are able, to join both the Jog and lunch (or just one if that's better for you!). To volunteer please click here. All volunteers must have district volunteer clearance through the office.
Are there any incentives for my child to raise money?
Yes! The PTG has worked hard this year to come up with fun prizes for the students. For every $10 that a student raises, they will earn 1 raffle ticket. Each Friday, we will draw multiple names for gift cards to places such as Starbucks, Krispy Kreme and Altitude Trampoline Park. We will also be rewarding individuals, classes and the school as a whole, based on amounts donated and the percentage of students involved. Rewards will include Cupcakes with Millie, Extra Recess with Popsicles sponsored by the PTG, Donut Parties, and a visit from the Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream Truck!
My business would like to contribute, how can I get more information?
This is a community event and we love to partner with local businesses. We have 4 business sponsorship levels and depending on the amount donated, the PTG will do social media shoutouts, hang a vinyl sign with the company logo on 37th Ave for a month, and more. Businesses can donate by using the "Business Sponsor Donation" button, which will also give more detail on the sponsorship levels. Please send us an email at [email protected] if you would like more information or have any questions about this!
What does my child need to bring to the event?
Please apply sunscreen to your child before school if it is a sunny day. We encourage students to bring a full waterbottle labeled with their name. We will have water stations with cups as well. Students will receive a new Jefferson Jog shirt the morning of the event. Please wear comfortable shorts or pants and athletic shoes to jog in.
